Job Description: |
The Claim Processing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the claims processing team, ensuring timely and accurate submission of insurance claims. The role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of medical billing and payer guidelines, and the ability to resolve claim issues while meeting performance and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the claims processing team to ensure consistent performance and accuracy.
- Ensure timely submission of insurance claims (both electronic and paper) in accordance with payer-specific and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and address claim rejections and pending claims by coordinating appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback to claim processors to maintain high-quality output.
- Track and maintain team productivity metrics and performance benchmarks (e.g., daily claims processed, quality scores, turnaround time).
- Collaborate closely with the eligibility team and authorization teams to resolve complex billing issues and streamline workflows.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce errors or rework.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies, payer rules, and healthcare regulations.
- Prepare and present operational reports on claim volumes and resolution trends to management.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address escalations, updates, or concerns related to claim processing and timelines.
